Oklahoma artist profile

Nick Farrow

I've always enjoyed making things. Whether it's building something from wood, taking a photograph, creating digital artwork, or experimenting with new ideas, I love the process of turning imagination into something people can experience.

My love of art began long before I considered myself an artist. My mother is an artist in Eufaula and was a member of the Oklahoma Teaching Artist Roster with the Oklahoma Arts Council. Since I was a teenager, I had the opportunity to apprentice under her, helping with workshops, community art projects, and whatever else needed to be done. Watching her teach and seeing the impact art had on people inspired my own love of creating. It also taught me that I enjoyed making things with my hands just as much as working with technology.

That lifelong passion eventually inspired me to create OklahomaArtPlace.com—a free place where Oklahoma artists can share their work, tell their stories, and connect with people across the state.

I don't limit myself to a single medium. My work blends traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, drawing inspiration from Oklahoma's history, communities, and landscapes. I'm happiest when I'm learning a new skill, exploring a new medium, or creating something that didn't exist before.

I believe art should be shared, not hidden away. If something I create inspires someone else to make, build, paint, photograph, or imagine something new, then I've accomplished exactly what I set out to do.
